Functions and attributions of Project Management Unit

•Ensure accurate records of project activities and inventory of project support equipment

•Make sure the administrative and financial documents are correctly filed.

•Make sure that contracts with supplies and service providers are regularly updated.

•Supervise the contract related after-sales service conditions.

•Assume any other related tasks as requested by Director.

• Duties and Responsibility of Administration

•General Coordination of Various things in the office

• Management of unit resources (including stationeries, equipments…)

•Records management (Hard and soft copies)

•Communication management within the unit.

These 4 projects are coordinated by Director and each project has project officer. Here below are description, duties and Responsibility of Director, Project officer, project assistant and Secretary (Administration)

Duties and Responsibility of Coordinator/Director

•Enhancing cooperation between RNP & partners

•Project follow up ,monitoring and Evaluation

•Approve and authorize all documents ralating to the directorate.

•Identify the pontial partners.

•Match potential extenal support to RNP’s priorities.

•Ensure that regular project status reports are available to decision-makers.

•Provide ongoing advice to project officers.

•Assist in the planning of all projects.

•Liaise with other department (End users)

•Duties and responsibilities of the Project officer

•To plan, implement and monotor the project.

•In close collabolation with stakeholders he/she is responsible to plan and implement the strategy.

•Monitor progress of the project against agreed target and indicators.

•Provide ongoing advice, sensitisation and support beneficiaries.

•Prepare monthly, quartery and annual reports work plan and report to project coordinator.

•Prepare payment requests for projects activities in collaboration with the Director.

•Ensure timely and correct management and reporting of funds.

•Coordinate minutes and reports from meetings relating to projects.

•Assist in the preparation of financial reports.

Description of Jobs in Project Management unit

Rwanda National Police have different projects that contribute to the RNP’s budget ; it is on this contest that Project Management Unit was established for the management of the Funds.

This development partner’s support augments the RNP budget and enabling the institution to allocate those funds to the strategic priorities.

Currently Project Management Unit manages, coordinates and executes FIVE (5) projects namely ;

i. Belgian Technical Cooperation funded project (BTC)

ii. United Nations Development Program me funded Project (UNDP)

iii. United Nations Development Fund for UN Women (UNIFEM)

iv. Germany Technical cooperation (GIZ)
