Mother, son arrested over murder

Rwanda National Police (RNP) has arrested a woman and his son in Gatagara Sector, Musanze district in connection with the death of the husband and father of the duo respectively.

It is alleged that Agnes Bayavuge 47 and Innocent Ntakiyimana 24 – her son – on March 7, at about 7:30pm, assaulted Jean de Dieu Ntawukizanuwe, who died later out of sustained injuries.

Rwanda National Police [RNP] is holding three residents of Muhanga District for allegedly breaking into Dr. Innocent Turate’s house, in Gitarama cell, Nyamabuye sector on Wednesday night.

The suspects who include two security guards namely; Jean Hakizimana, Francois Musabyimana and a housemaid Mediatrice Uwitonze are held on suspicion of stealing

one laptop, digital camera, ipad, Rwf. 240,000 and 55 Euros.

Police seizes vast quantities of narcotics and illicit brew in Kamonyi district

A cordon and search operation held in Kamonyi District on Tuesday led to seizure of substantial quantities of narcotic drug, cannabis and illicit brew Kanyanga and chief waragi in Gacurabwenge sector, Kigembe cell.

Three residents were found in possession with 237 rolls of cannabis, 38 liters of illicit brew commonly known as Kanyanga and eight bottles of chief waragi among others.

Rwanda Traffic Police is advising those seeking driving licence to follow all the instructions and come with necessary tools for the tests.

The general provisional and practical tests are scheduled to start on March 11.

CIP Ndushabandi said only people who had registered by February 26, will seat for the tests.

He advised them to carry with them all the necessary tools to avoid any possible interruptions.

Rwanda National Police arrest trio over abortion

Rwanda National Police (RNP) on March 2 arrested two people for allegedly aiding their colleague to abort.

The duo, Antoinette Bukuru and Umutoni Mwajab, allegedly aided Hasha Gahire, 33, to abort her six months feutus.

Gahire, a resident of Nyarugenge Sector Nyarugenge District was still staying with her parents.
