The National Police Academy has in its future plans to conduct other courses like intermediate command & management course and Strategic command course.

Investigation course is a course designed for serving police officers, both commissioned and non commissioned police officers who are deployed in criminal investigation department.

The duration of the course is two months.

This course is attended by police officers from traffic police Unit and aims at equipping traffic police officers with working knowledge and skills in traffic regulations, traffic management, sketch drawing, accident case file compilation, etc.

This course is mainly attended by criminal investigation officers and aims at providing them with practical skills in scene of crime management, evidence collection and criminal identification techniques.

Since 2005 Rwanda is among countries which contribute police forces in UN peace keeping operations.

UN peace support operations

Before going in mission Rwandan Police officers go through courses preparing them to properly carry out their duties in mission areas. These courses are conducted either in Rwanda or in Kenya.

When conducted in Rwanda, National Police Academy is one of the centers which train Police officers before they go in mission.

These courses are in-job training offered to police officers whose dairy work requires some specific knowledge which is not necessarily acquired in general basic courses.

These include investigation course, crime management course, VIP protection and Road safety.

The High potential development course is specifically designed for senior police officers who hold high command and planning positions.

It aims at equipping them with strategic planning, command and advanced management abilities in respect to the changing policing environment.

This course is conducted in partnership with English police.
