Seven countries are taking part in the tournament. Others are Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Burundi and the host, Tanzania.
While flagging off the tournament on Monday, the Prime Minister of Tanzania, Kasim Majaliwa Kasim said that sports is also part of the modern and proactive policing tools, and called for stronger partnership between law enforcement agencies against emerging and technology-facilitates crimes.
“These games depict your commitment to the general good of our countries and our people, but also for law enforcement agencies to develop sports as one of EAPCCO’s objectives,” the premier said.
“We committed to fight corruption, drug trafficking, human trafficking and all sorts of fraud and cross-border crimes, among others. This requires strong cooperation among law enforcement agencies,” PM Majaliwa said.
