Korean ambassador to Rwanda pays courtesy call on Inspector General
The ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Rwanda, His Excellency Kim Eung Joong, yesterday, paid a courtesy call to IGP Dan Munyuza at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters in Kacyiru.
They discussed on various areas of cooperation and emphasized formalizing bilateral engagements between Rwanda and Korea Police institutions.
Amb. Joong lauded RNP and the government in general for “turning Rwanda into a safer country.”
“RNP has made tremendous strides in ensuring the safety and security of the people in Rwanda, so I discussed with the Inspector General on how Rwanda and Korea Police forces can work together for the good of the people in our two countries,” Amb. Joong said in an interview.
“We believe there is a lot the two Police forces can learn from each other, which requires formalizing our bilateral engagements,” he added.
Rwanda National Police signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in October 2013. The MoU focuses on various areas of training including cybercrime, traffic management, mechanical engineering and Information Technology related courses.
