Over 40 Police officers complete 'Methods of Instruction' course

Forty-one Police officers, on Friday, May 3, completed a 12-week Methods of Instruction (MOI) course at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishari in Rwamagana District.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, Vincent Sano presided over the pass-out of the 7th intake.

The course is designed to equip Rwanda National Police (RNP) Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) with relevant instructional skills and techniques required to plan, apply and evaluate training events and programmes.

The MOI course covers general instruction techniques, effective communication, psychology of learning, development of instructional aids and human relations, among others.

DIGP Sano congratulated the trainees for completing the course, adding that capacity building remains the RNP’s top priority to achieve institutional goals and deliver to the public expectations. 

"Training shapes character, personality, caliber and the future of both individuals and institutions," DIGP Sano said.

He added that this requires qualified instructors to ensure better planning and monitoring process of different training programmes to effectively respond to strategic, operational and tactical performance demands.

"As you prepare to embark on your teaching career, armed with the knowledge and insights gained from this course, remember to approach every day with a growth mindset and commitment to ensure further improvement," he told the trainees.

He encouraged them to carry forward the spirit of innovation, creativity, and dedication in their duties and to create lasting impact.
