The four-day process opened on Monday, September 21, at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters. It brings together police leaders from Djibouti, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles and Tanzania, the Gender Sub-Committee, the EAPCCO Secretariat and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Office for Eastern Africa (ROEA).

CG Namuhoranye made the call on Saturday, September 19, in Karongi District, where he joined residents of Rubengera Sector, Gacaca Cell, for a special youth community work (Umuganda) conducted as part of a nationwide campaign to mobilise young people against drug abuse and illicit alcohol.

A total of 296 police officers have completed the 18-week Non-Commissioned Officers’ (NCOs) Course, Intake 16, which concluded on Friday, September 18, at Police Training School (PTS) Gishari in Rwamagana District.

The workshop started on Monday, September 14, at Rwanda National Police (RNP) General Headquarters in Kacyiru and brings together police officers from Burundi, Kenya, Sudan, Zimbabwe and Rwanda.

IGP Namuhoranye said maintaining Rwanda’s safety and security requires collective responsibility, particularly from young people who constitute a significant part of the population.
