The meeting was held as part of Maj Gen Maaitah's three-day official visit to Rwanda and focused on strengthening cooperation.

The youth had previously been involved in activities that undermined public safety and community wellbeing, including violence, vagrancy, theft and drug abuse.

The call was made during the annual General Assembly of Kigali youth volunteers held at the Gasabo District Conference Hall, which brought together the volunteers, Kigali City Mayor Samuel Dusengiyumva and other officials.

The six-week training, conducted in partnership with the Qatar Internal Security Force – Lekhwiya, brought together officers from various units of the Rwanda National Police.
