Police Senior Command and Staff Course students in Qatar for external study tour

Thirty-four senior law enforcement officers from different African countries currently attending the Police Senior Command and Staff Course (PSCSC), on Sunday, April 28, started their external study tour in Qatar as part of the year-long academic programme offered at the National Police College (NPC) in Musanze District.

The Police students attending the ongoing 12th intake are from nine African countries, namely, Botswana, Somalia, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, South Sudan, Tanzania and Rwanda, the host.

The week-long tour is conducted under the theme: "Socio-economic development, good governance and justice as pillars of peace and security."Read more

Over 40 Police officers complete 'Methods of Instruction' course

Forty-one Police officers, on Friday, May 3, completed a 12-week Methods of Instruction (MOI) course at the Police Training School (PTS) Gishari in Rwamagana District.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) in charge of Operations, Vincent Sano presided over the pass-out of the 7th intake.

The course is designed to equip Rwanda National Police (RNP) Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) with relevant instructional skills and techniques required to plan, apply and evaluate training events and programmes. Read More

Man arrested attempting to bribe Police officer to influence vehicle inspection results

Police at Rwamagana Automobile Inspection Centre arrested a man on Thursday, May 2, for allegedly attempting to bribe an officer so as to issue a vehicle inspection certificate for his vehicle.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Hamdun Twizeyimana, the Police spokesperson for the Eastern region, said that the vehicle had failed the gas emissions test when the owner tried to give a bribe of Frw100,000 to the Police officer, who was inspecting it.Read more
