Rwanda, Central African Republic law enforcement officers complete joint special forces course

Some 283 law enforcement officers from Rwanda and Central African Republic (CAR), on Friday, April 26, completed the 'Police Basic Special Forces' course at the Counter Terrorism Training Centre (CTTC) Mayange in Bugesera District. At least 33 of the trainees are allied Police and Gendarmerie officers from CAR.

The closing of the 12th intake, which lasted for six-month, was presided over by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Felix Namuhoranye. It was also attended by the Director General of CAR National Police, Controller-General, Bienvenu Zokoue.Read more 

Motorists urged to be extra-vigilant during this rainy season

Rwanda National Police RNP) reminds motorists to be extra careful on the roads as heavy rain continues across the country.

Rwanda Meteorology Agency predicts heavy downpour in most parts of the country which can increase the risks of floods and landslides. 

Rains create potentially dangerous weather condition for motorists, which requires vigilance to avoid likely accidents and loss of lives.Read more 

Rwanda National Police in mass awareness against moto-vehicle gas emissions

Rwanda National Police (RNP) in collaboration with relevant entities, have rolled out a campaign to raise awareness against moto-vehicle fuel emissions.

The campaign conducted on different roads, bus parks and automobile inspection centres target vehicles and motorcycles, which are considered the major air pollutants in Rwanda.Read more 

Police foils shop robbery in Muhanga

Police in Muhanga District, in collaboration with the residents, arrested a man on Sunday, April 21, who had broken into a local shop.

The 48-year old suspect was caught red handed at about 9p.m, as he came out of the shop through a roof of the shop located in Kamugina Village, Gahogo Cell in Nyamabuye Sector. Read more
