Substandard goods worth Frw39.8 million seized from market


Assorted counterfeit, substandard and expired products worth over Frw39.8 million were seized from shops in different parts of the country.

KIGALI: Man arrested impersonating colleague in driving test


A 40-year-old man was arrested Friday, April 8, at Muhima computer-based driving test centre where he was attempting to take an online provisional test for his colleague.

MUHANGA: Police foils smuggler with over 376,200 pieces of polythene bags


A suspected smuggler identified as Juvens Habimana, 30, was arrested on Wednesday April 6, in Muhanga District with 1,881 cartons (376,200 pieces) of banned non-biodegradable polythene bags and 33 weighing scales.  Read more...  

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION: Kirehe residents urged to protect gazetted forests

Residents of Kirehe District were called upon to desist from acts of deforestation and to report people, who destroy protected forests.

The calls follows the arrest of a man identified as Ignace Niyonzima, 33, on Saturday, April 2, after he was found cutting trees in a gazetted forest located in Nyabayama Village, Nyabitare Cell, Nyarubuye Sector, Kirehe District.  Read more...
