The EALA visits Rwanda National Police

12 March 2010 : East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) committee members were received by the Commissioner General of Police Emmanuel K. Gasana at the Police general headquarters on the 11th March, 2010.
The EALA Committee members included Hon. Georgette Nibitanga from Burundi, Hon Augustine C. Lototo from Kenya, Hon. Dr Odette Nyiramirimo from Rwanda and Hon. Margaret N. Zziwa from Uganda who is also a team leader.

Traffic Police Apprehends Six for Giving Bribe

12 March 2010 : Six people who violated some road safety rules have been arrested between the 4th and the 11th March, 2010.
Those are Mureke idrissa, Sibomana Aloys, Iryivuze Ignace, Hitiyaremye Francois, Bisanganabagabo Emmanuel, and Ukwigira Jean Pierre .
All the mentioned are accused of trying to corrupt traffic police officers by giving them bribes.
The suspects were apprehended at road safety checkpoints in Kigali City such as; Kinamba, Nyabugogo, Peyaje, and Gikondo.

BTC Project hands over Vehicles and Motorcycles to RNP

2 March 2010 : The Belgian Government through the Belgian Technical Cooperation (BTC) on 02nd March 2010 has donated to the RWANDAN NATIONAL POLICE equipment composed of 36 pick ups and 82 motorcycles.
The BTC resident representative Jean Yves SALIER handed the equipment to CGP Emmanuel K.GASANA IN a ceremony organized at POLICE headquarters in KACYIRU.
Also present at the ceremony was the Attaché of the Belgian Embassy in KIGALI.

Music and Video Pirates Summoned at Kacyiru CID Headquarters

26 February 2010 : On 25th February, the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has rounded up pirates of works of art belonging to national musicians operating in Kigali town.
The operation launched in NYABUGOGO and the CITY center area netted 8 pirates operating publicly.
A number of items used in that illegal business like CD’s, DVD’s, VCD’s, external hard disks, flash disks and seven desktop computers were seized in the meantime.
